Poem #85

hey :)
This is just a quick little poem I wrote. I've been trying to experiment with different forms of poetry (so there should be many coming up!! and i will point them out!!). This is an acrostic poem. Basically, in an acrostic poem, if you look at the first letter of each line (look at it vertically) it spells something out!! :) I hope you all like this!

Interesting, exciting, fun.
Amazing, thoughtful, friendly.
Magnificent, unique, wacky.
Marvelous, intriguing, loyal.
Electric personality, artist, romantic.

Poem #84

Good afternoon :)
Today's poem is about memories, in particular, how strong some of them can be and what it feels like to people when they remember those strong memories. Also, it is about how hard it is to forget these even if you want to. The main focus in this poem is on memories of events that replay over and over again in a person's mind because of the end result after this event. The person thinking of this usually is thinking about it and wondering what could have happened if it had gone differently and they wish that they could go back and change it. I know that all of us have had that happen to us at least once in our lives and this is definitely something that we will never and can never forget.
I hope you all enjoy this :)

Memories, like ghosts,
Playing out right before your eyes,
As if they were just taking place.
And they keep going, unstoppable,
Unchangeable, though you may wish they were.
Wanting to go back, knowing what you do now,
And do it all over again,
Fix it so everything would be right,
Or just to see how things could have been.
Not wanting to remember, to see,
But having no control.
Haunted by the past,
And empty in the present.

Poem #83

This poem is one that I wrote about the nice weather we have been having (a few days ago when it was warmer). It's about taking advantage of the weather by going for a walk! I hope you all enjoy this!

Take a walk on a sunny day,
Pass the park where the children play.
And watch the birds as they fly around,
Listening to their beautiful sound.
People talk beneath the trees,
While the grass bends in the breeze.
Kids eat picnics in the field,
No one knows what the day will yield.
Everyone's having a really great time.
I walk over and use a dime,
To buy an ice cream,
And sit down by a stream.
I pick some flowers in a bunch,
Then turn and go back home for lunch.

Poem #82

Second poem for the day! :)

High School
There is tons of work to do,
Some of it is hard to get through.
Friends get closer, some drift apart.
High school can be a fresh start.
This is suppose to be a fun time in your life.
But sometimes it can feel like a great strife.
These years count more than years before,
And you never know what these years have in store.
New boyfriend or girlfriend,
Old loves come to an end.
New teachers, more learning,
You must be discerning.
Growing up so fast,
Try to make these years last.

Poem #81

I will post up two poems tonight since I missed one yesterday :)
The first poem of the day is a rhyme about Monday!!

First day of the week,
You drag yourself out of bed.
Beneath you, the floor squeaks,
And you lift up your head.
Walk down the hall,
Clothes in your hand.
Dreams of the beach call,
And you want to be in the sand.
The weekend was fun,
The weather was cool.
But now it's done,
And it's time for school.
You finally drag yourself out the door,
But you don't feel like doing anymore.

Poem #80

Today's poem is about being unique (like me!!) :) I wrote this poem because I was thinking about how I have been criticized and made fun of for being myself or being different. This is also a message to anyone who has gone through that to say that you all shouldn't let that sort of thing get you down or change you. Always be yourself!! :)
20 more poems until I have completed 100!! :)

I am unique.
I'm different, independent, my own person.
I'm unusual. I don't change myself for others.
I want people to like me for the real me.
I have my own style, my own feelings,
I do things in unexpected ways.
I'm not like others, internally and externally.
I want to be me and not what people make me.
Some don't like me because of these things.
They make fun of me, try to hurt me,
Just because they can't understand me,
Don't know me, and are upset,
Because they want to be unique like me,
But don't know how to be anything but a clone of everyone else.

Poem #79

Today's poem is about the different things that a rainbow could symbolize :)

The expanse of shimmering colors,
So delicate, after a rainstorm.
There for a second, then gone.
The wide range of colors used by an artist,
To paint an amazing work of art.
But these are the visible and tangible rainbows.
There are some that are not seen.
The rainbows that are our thoughts and feelings.
Many layers, different shades.
Not easily seen, but always there.
And when we show our personalities,
It is as if we are painting that canvas,
Creating a work of art, a portrait,
And each one is different.
Showing who we truly are.

Poem #78

Hey Everyone!
A little bit later than usual but here is today's poem :)

Walk outside on this warm day.
The kids all run around and play.
I hear the birds sing,
I hear the bells ring.
Leaves rustle in the trees,
Being blow by the cool breeze.
Dogs play in the sun filled park.
They chase after balls, and pant, and bark.
The water trickles through the long calming stream.
It's perfect out here! It must be a dream.
Bugs can be heard buzzing about.
The place is so busy. Everyone must have come out.
Today has been so warm and fun,
It's a shame that now the day's done.

Poem #77

Today's poem is a funny rhyme about TV. In the next few days I will be posting up more serious or non-rhyming poems :)

Turn on the TV and watch a show,
You can watch something that you know.
Or maybe begin to watch a new one,
You really like it, a craze has begun.
Maybe a good movie is on right now,
And there is a kid's show about a cow.
On one channel there is a drama,
And on another, a speech from Obama.
Maybe you want to watch a comedy.
And that is something called a "dramedy"
You can watch that scary movie,
Or one from the 60's that's really groovy!
But I think commercials should go away,
And be shown again on another day!

Poem #76

Today's poem is about Vacation! I wrote this because
a) I've been thinking a lot about summer vacation and going to beach!
b) because spring break is almost here!!!!

Nothing to worry about, nothing to plan.
Just weeks of relaxing.
Sleeping in or getting up early,
Whichever you want to do, your choice.
Not tied to a schedule, you don't have to watch the clock.
Just have fun. Do your favorite things.
Take a trip, go out with friends.
A time to catch up on hobbies,
Or maybe a TV show you missed.
And the best thing to do,
Close your eyes, lean back,
And let peace fill your body.

Poem #75

Happy Sunday!!
Today's poem is another rhyme :) This poem is about the internet and in particular, safety on the internet!

The Internet
When you're on the web, you surf.
Very easy, it's familiar turf.
But when you're on, you must use care,
With who you talk to on there.
Some are not who they say they are,
And only post pictures of their car.
But it's good for connecting with family and friends,
And figuring out the latest trends.
You could always read the news,
Or watch any TV show you choose.
You can also shop online,
And even customize a clothing design.
Now you're ready, you are set,
So have fun on the internet.

Poem #74

Today's poem is a poem about stuffed animals! We know that we all love them. Even when we get older we still stay attached to those stuffed animals from out childhood! :)
I hope you enjoy this poem!

Stuffed Animals
They are soft and silky,
One's a white that's milky.
There's one, the color of cream,
And this one helps you dream.
Snuggled with you in bed,
You kiss its head.
With a smile sown into its face,
This is a treasure you can't replace.
In your possession so long,
The memories, so strong.
They watch over you and keep you safe at night,
So the dark will not give you a fright.
We will not get rid of them. Never!
We will keep them forever and ever.

Poem #73

Here is another short little rhyme I wrote a few days ago. It's kinda random but fun! :) haha I hope you all like it!

Some hair flows all the way down the back,
All different colors like red, gold, and black.
And some have short hair,
That needs lots of care.
Some hair is straight, some is wavy,
Some is the color of really good gravy.
Some streaked with gray,
While little strands stray.
Fancy or plain,
With a hair dye stain.
All different types, fit for your face.
Wacky hairstyles all over the place!
Long or straight, silky or smooth,
Your hairstyle can show your own special groove.

Poem #72

2nd poem of the day :)

The World
Filled with people of all different kinds,
Each person containing a unique mind.
Some people are mean, others are nice,
And some people say things before thinking twice.
Some friendships are broken, some are made,
You decide not to move and are glad you stayed.
No two people are exactly alike.
We are all different, and that's what I like!
All over the world we care for each other.
I love this planet! I would never want another.
This life is the only one you get,
So live it to the fullest and never forget,
We are all connected some way, some how.
So run outside and enjoy the world now!

Poem #71

Good Morning everyone!
Sorry I did not have a chance to post yesterday but I will post up two poems today! The first poem of the day is about the notebook that I write and create all of these poems in! :)

All done up with colorful designs,
The words on the pages define,
My personality that no one knows,
And on these pages, it grows.
The lines are filled with colorful pen,
Sometimes about animals in a den.
And sometimes there are stories about trees,
Who's leaves rustle in the crisp autumn breeze.
Once in a while I'll write of a dog,
Who recently tried to chase a frog.
And I just wrote about my mind,
A personal poem that's hard to find.
If I'm here with my notebook, I'll stay,
Because I love to write all day!

Poem #70

Happy Tuesday!
Today is my 70th poem!! Only 30 more and I've reached 100 which is really cool :) haha! Today's poem is about silence.

The peaceful quiet,
Not a sound is made anywhere.
Alone, no movement, no talking.
My mind is not thinking.
Nothing interrupts this.
But the silence is not always good.
My mind will race through thoughts,
Not happy, but sad and angry.
And the silence is what holds in the feelings,
The ones that I need to let out.
It keeps me from saying what I need to,
From asking for help.
The silence holds me prisoner,
And pulls me into a dark world,
A world that I can't get out of.

Poem #69

Good Morning!
Well it's Monday again :P and I bet everyone is tired! I know I am! Here is my poem for today. This is one that I actually wrote last week! I hope you enjoy it! :)

Tears building up within my eyes,
But I can't let them out.
I feel the stabs into my stomach,
And I can't escape them.
Their words running constantly through my head,
And I can't think of anything else.
All the laughs, the stares,
I want to get away from them,
Get out of this room.
I want to be anyone but me.
I feel a huge scream building up in me,
Threatening to escape my mouth.
But I can't.
So my throat traps it.
Everything is trapped,
And it just keeps hurting more and more.

Poem #68

This poem is a quick little one I wrote the other day! It's not very profound, just sort a fun little children's rhyme! :) hope you all enjoy it!

Animals, all fuzzy white.
Seen so easily at night.
Their wool is used for many things,
To us, our many needs in brings.
They are found in fields and barns,
And their wool is used for yarn.
They all make distinctive noise,
That brings joy to girls and boys.
They are helpful, they are sweet,
Their personalities can't be beat.
And when at night we go to sleep,
We realize the joys of sheep,
As we count them in our sleep.
I think we should all thank the sheep.

Poem #67

Today's poem is about summer nights. This is a poem that is based off some of the really good memories that I've had from past summers when I'm outside at night. I hope you all like it :)

Summer Nights

I remember those warm nights,
A cool breeze of mystery in the air.
The sounds and smells of summer,
So vivid to me.
Sitting in the cool grass under the glimmering moon,
Breeze blowing through my hair.
I sat there, laughing and talking with friends or family,
About the day's events or plans for the future days.
The peace, the joy, my most wonderful memories.
These carefree moments,
Moments I enjoy remembering.
And when I think of these,
I can always feel the emotions, smell the smells,
No matter how much time has passed.
It will always be this way,
Nothing can change the memories.
Feelings carved into my mind,

Poem #66

Happy Friday!!
Today I'm home sick because I haven't been feeling well for the past few days so today is a good day to write a poem, because that always helps me to feel better! This poem is all funny poem about the beach (rhyming). I've been thinking a lot about summer plans already (even though it's only March) and about how I can't wait to go back to the beach!! I hope you all enjoy this poem and it brings you happy thoughts of summer! :)

The Beach

Time to take a trip to the beach.
This will be so fun for each.
Get all your things and pack up the car.
Hurry up now, it's not very far.
Bring all your friends and go on your way.
The sun is out, it will be a great day.
Park the car and step onto the sand,
And walk down the beach with your blanket in hand.
Find the right spot and lay the blanket down,
Right next to the sea shell that looks like a crown.
Look out at the ocean, look up at the sky,
And see all the seagulls that always fly by.
Time to relax and have some fun.
You'll be in a great mood by the time the day's done.

Poem #65

Good evening everyone!
Sorry this is so late today but I've been feeling sick for the past few days so I'm just getting a chance to post this. This one is another cute fun one (rhyming of course!!) about pets! Everyone loves pets :)

Pets are fun to have around.
They're cute and sweet and make your day.
On the stairs they'll run up and down,
But when you tell them to, they'll stay.
They need love and lots of care,
And in return, they'll care for you.
They depend on you to always be there,
So know exactly what you need to do.
Stick up ears or wagging tail,
Long whiskers, big eyes.
They always make you happy, they never fail.
In the morning it's hard to say your goodbyes.
They feel they are loved by your touch.
These are the pets we love so much.

Poem #64

Now, today's poem does not rhyme. Today's poem is about music :) Music is a huge part of my life and I love it so much! It's so amazing! I hope you enjoy this!!

Loud of soft, fast or slow,
Soothing or exciting.
Music affects moods, makes your day better.
The notes, dancing on a page,
The sound flowing through your mind,
Through your body, like blood.
Different interpretations, heard in different ways.
Music comes from your soul, from your mind.
Dancing, singing, falling asleep,
Music plays a large part in life.
A beautiful creation that tells a story.
Appreciate the music in your life.
It does so much for us.

Poem #63

Good morning!
Here is another one of my funny little rhyming poems and I think I sound a lot like Dr. Seuss in this one!! haha :) In the next few days I'm going to be basically alternating between the funny cute ones and the more serious "grown-up" poems! :) Hope you enjoy this one!

A Birthday
Today is a very exciting day.
It’s going to be special in every way.
Spend the day with family and friends.
The happiness will never end.
Have your favorite food, maybe fish or a steak,
And then you will get a birthday cake.
Then open the presents of all different kinds,
The ones that are colored in neat little lines.
Time to play some party games.
Everyone’s laughing and shouting out names.
Soon this party must come to an end.
It’s time to say bye to family and friends.
This party has been so very great.
We should do this again on another date!

Poem #62

Today's poem is about the Weekend. I guess that's not the greatest poem for a Monday morning though! haha :) But I hope you enjoy it anyway :)

The Weekend

The busy week is finally done,
It’s time to relax and have some fun.
Spend some time sleeping in,
It’s time for the weekend to begin.
See your family, go out with friends.
Hurry, before the weekend ends!
No homework or studying to do,
Now you have some time for you!
Go lie down or watch a show.
Have a talk with someone you know.
Listen to music, read a book,
Or maybe go to the kitchen and cook.
The weather’s warm, the sun is out,
So run outside and jump and shout!

Poem #61

This poem is about spring! I thought it would be a good idea for a poem because it has been so warm out recently and it's getting pretty close to spring! :) This is also another rhyming poem!

Flowers poking up from the ground,
Changing buds to a colorful burst.
The birds and bugs begin to sound,
And animals at lakes quench their thirst.
Sweaters are exchanged for short sleeved shirts,
Shorts and sandals begin to appear,
And all the women wear their skirts.
Everyone enjoys being here.
Spring shows hope for warmer weather.
Finally we can go outdoors.
Birds fly around and drop their feathers,
And children think of campfires and s'mores.
Warmer days and longer nights,
All the flowers create joyful sights!

Poem #60

Happy Saturday! :)
This poem today is the first of my poems that rhymes!! haha :) someone i know told me that I should rhyme some more so I tried to do a few! But I'm not the best at rhyming so please bear with me! :) This poem is about summer! I've been thinking about that a lot lately since it's already March!!

School is finally out!
Switch from work to play.
Everyone sleeps late, without a doubt,
Each day is a great day.
Relaxing at home, spending time on the beach,
Seeing your family and friends.
No one has to work or teach,
This summer should never end.
Popsicles and cold ice cream,
The tasty treats of summer.
The children laugh and play and scream.
This will not be a bummer!
Basking in the summer heat,
I know this summer can't be beat!

Poem #59

Hey all!
Today's poem is a short little poem about a horse. This was sort of just a random idea! I hope you like it :) also, there are going to be some poems coming this weekend that rhyme (at the request of some) so please bear with my rhyming skills! haha :)

The Horse

Pounding, coming closer.
What is this sound?
A cloud of dust rises.
The horse comes flying by,
Hooves hitting the ground with force,
Carrying this animal out into the rolling fields.
Its long silky mane is flowing,
Big eyes sparkling in the sun.
And I watch this beautiful creature,
Running into the horizon.
And I want to experience the same,
That wonderful sense of freedom.
So I begin to run into the ocean of green,
And let the light swallow me.

Poem #58

Good morning :)
This is poem that I actually wrote yesterday. This poem is basically about someones mind who has been going through a tough time. I wrote this because it related to something from one of my classes at school and I do write a lot of poems based of something that someone is talking about a lot one day :) I hope you like it!
My Mind
Withdraw to my mind.
So many thoughts, feelings,
Ranging from happy to horrible.
It's confusing and mixed up.
My mind races through thoughts.
I can't control it, I want to get out.
I feel like I'm spinning around,
Drowning in my feelings.
My throat closes up,
It's hard to breath.
My heart beats faster.
I want to slow down,
I want to stop, come back to the surface,
Into reality.
And suddenly, when I feel beyond all hope,
As if I will never come back,
I am pulled back into the world,
And only I know what happened.

Poem #57

Today's poem is about breathing. I thought of this because breathing can help to calm you down and relax you, so I thought it would be a good idea for a poem. Hope you all enjoy it :)

Just breathe.
When you feel scared,
It will calm you.
Releasing stress, taking in peace.
Walking outdoors on a nice day.
Stop and take a breath.
Breathe in the sights, the smells.
When you are in a hurry,
Slow down, breathe.
When anger boils up inside you,
Wait. And,
Just breathe.

Poem #56

I wrote this poem during one of my study halls today. It is about a clock because I was watching the clock waiting for my next class. This poem has caught me up to where I need to be :)

The Clock
Tick tock! Tick tock!
The thin black hands move around the circle,
Landing on different numbers.
Showing the progression of time.
Tick tock! Tick tock!
Counting down hours, minutes, seconds.
Giving some people a warning.
Controlling the world.
And the clock keeps going,
Tick tock! Tick tock!

Poem #55

I wrote this next poem about a ring that I just got this past weekend from my parents! :) it's really pretty and I love it so much so I decided to write about it! haha :)

The Ring
Sparkling green stone,
Delicately crafted to fit the band.
Silver, shining in the light,
Encircling my finger,
Intricate details carved into the top.
The ring, glittering on my finger,
Symbolizing something important,
An achievement.
It outshines everything in its beauty.
I never want to take it off,
Never want to lose it.
I will keep it forever.

Poem #54

I am almost caught up! I should have three more for today and so far i have two so i will try to write one more so I can be all caught up :) Here is my first poem for today. I wrote this for one of my friends, Liz, who greatly enjoys sugar :)

Tiny crystals, sugary sweet,
Pouring out of the package.
Mixed into food, sprinkled on top,
Or straight into your mouth.
These little grains melt in your mouth,
Engaging your taste buds,
Giving you a sudden rush,
Filling you with energy.
The sweet taste lifts your spirits,
Wakes you up.
Feeling excited, hyper.
But soon, it's over,
And sadly you go back to being tired.
Sugar is small but powerful.

Poem #53

This next poem is about a lake. There was no specific reason I wrote this. I really just got the idea when I saw the sun shining on a puddle outside and suddenly thought of a lake :)

The Lake
Sparkling on the cool, crisp waters,
The sun shines down.
It reflects off the small ripples,
Escaping the rock, tossed with force.
Surrounded by soft green grass,
And flowers of all colors,
That dance as a breeze blows by.
I lie in the grass by the cool waters,
Staring at the clouds as they fly past,
The wind, blowing away my troubles.
The tree, dropping its branches to meet me.
I stand and grab the branch,
Swinging out and letting go.
And the last of my troubles wash away,
With that perfect splash into the lake.

Poem #52

This next poem is called Lost. It is about someone who has experienced a lot of change and is missing the way everything use to be. I think pretty much everyone has gone through this sort of thing at least once in their life.

I feel lost in this world.
Life is not the same and hasn't been.
My world is crashing down around me.
I don't understand, everything changed.
I changed.
I am an unknown person,
In a new world,
A world of sadness and pain.
I want to go home,
I want my life back,
My friends and family,
Me, my happiness.
But I'm stuck here,
Crying for help.
Crying for what I knew and loved,
For the person I use to be.
Longing to get out of this torture and sadness.
I can't explain myself, my feelings.
I can't show my emotions at all,
I won't.
So I sit, alone,
And I scream in silence.

Poem #51

Sorry I'm so behind with posting but I will try to catch up this week. I have been writing everyday though so I have lots of new poems to share with all of you! :) here is one of them. This one is about snow days since I just had a few recently and I wrote this on one of those days :)

Snow Day
Wake up late in the morning,
Or maybe early afternoon,
Wondering why you are still at home.
Shouldn't I be at school?
You stumble out of bed to the window,
And glance out at the street.
You are suddenly blinded by the brightness.
The entire area is covered in snow,
Glittering in the light of the sun.
This white scene sparks excitement in you.
Running to get dressed in warm clothes,
And grabbing your coat as you go.
You rush out the door into the drifts,
And jump into a snow pile with delight.
You move your arms and legs back and forth,
As you stare up at the sky,
Thoughts filled with exciting plans for the day,
Because today is a snow day!
