Poem #115

A rhyme about a dog with a rhyme scheme of AABBA CCDDC

Running around, he'll play and bark.
He really enjoys going to the park.
Always smiling and wagging his tail.
And I've taught him how to get the mail.
When we walk, he'll leave his mark.
My dog, he really likes to play.
He'll chase a ball in any way.
He will tilt his head back and howl at the moon.
And beautiful sound, he'll make it soon.
And we will cuddle every day.

Poem #114

Today's poem may seem a bit confusing to some. This is another form that I am trying. Basically, the first half of the poem is describing the topic and the second half is describing the opposite of this topic! :) 1st line: The topic, 2nd line: two words describing it, 3rd line: three words describing it, 4th line, two words describing, two words opposite, 5th line: three words opposite, 6th line: two words opposite, 7th line: one word opposite.

Fun, happy.
Caring, loving, laughing.
Supportive, entertaining, anger, rude.
Yelling, fighting, screaming.
Unhappy, horrible.

Poem #113

Today's poem is my attempt to write an inspirational poem! :) (bear with me! haha)

Have faith in yourself,
Don't doubt what you are capable of.
Try hard, do your best,
And be who you are.
Be proud of what you believe in,
What you do, what you love.
Believe in your life,
Believe in those who love you,
And find people you trust.
Life's what you make it,
So believe in yourself.

Poem #112

Today's poem is a rhyme about candy with a different rhyme scheme than I normally use. This one is ABBA CDDC EFFE GG!

Sugary and sweet,
Chocolates and lollipops.
Hold on to it so it never drops.
A taste that can't be beat.
In your mouth it will melt.
All different color, flavors galore.
So go and buy some from the store.
Eat too much and you should loosen your belt.
Your pockets are, with candy, filled.
Each a different size or a different shape.
Flavors like cherry, orange, and grape.
Open it carefully so nothing is spilled.
Eating candy is so much fun,
So share your candy with everyone.

Poem #111

An acrostic about weather!!! (Perfect for a rainy day like this! haha!) :)

Weather is unpredictable.
Each day it changes.
A mystery to be solved.
Tropical storms, even hurricanes.
Hot, could, sunny, cloudy.
Each temperature is different.
Rain or snow, this is,

Poem #110

Today's poem is a rhyme about April :)

The weather is getting really warm.
Bugs are coming in a swarm.
Animals come back from their winter homes.
People are decorating gardens with gnomes.
Everywhere, flowers are starting to appear.
The grass is turning green all around here.
The trees are in bloom, the leaves, so pretty.
Winter darkness lifts and awakens the city.
The summer is close. It's not far away,
But it feels like it should be here in a few days.
School is coming to an end,
But finals are just around the bend!
The birds are singing in your ear.
April is finally here!

Poem #109

More acrostics :) This one is based on a topic idea that my friend Liz gave me :)
I've been working a lot on poems recently and there are many many more to come!! :) so keep reading!

Mystical, unknown, extraordinary.
Awe-inspiring, fiction, reality.
Glorious, wonder, imagination.
Intense, happiness, surprising.
Cunning, miracle, life is,

Poem #108

Good morning :)
Today's poem is not in any particular format! It's just a free verse poem that I wrote about the Mona Lisa :) I hope you all enjoy it!!

Mona Lisa
So famous, so mysterious.
So much thought and no answers.
Many questions. Is there a smile?
What is the meaning?
Why does no one know?
A small picture causing a huge interest,
Many debates and investigations.
And who was she? If she was anyone.
These questions and speculations,
They will last many lifetimes,
As will the painting.
And these questions may never find answers.
Forever a mystery.

Poem #107

Today's poem is an autobiographical poem that I did about myself :)

Friendly, trustworthy, wacky, caring.
A crazy musician.
Lover of family, friends, writing, and animals.
Who feels lonely, happy, unique.
Who needs sleep, food, good friends.
Who gives help to those in need.
Who fears parts of life, boats, and some bugs.
Who would like to see many different countries.
Resident of the U.S.

Poem #106

This is another form of poetry. It's called and Inside outside poem. It's pretty self explanatory :) haha!

Outside, Inside
On the outside, I'm all smiles.
I laugh all the time.
Happy, excited, friendly,
And always having fun.
On the inside, I'm sometimes like this.
But sometimes I'm sad and angry,
Not smiling.
But I'm always friendly.
On the outside, I seem to share all my feelings.
I'm open. Outgoing, loud, wacky.
Never getting mad or upset,
Always full of joy.
But on the inside, I have so many unshared feelings,
Things that I would like to say.
Shy, quiet, unique.
A beautiful person.

Poem #105

Good morning :)
As I said before, I'm going to try different types of poems so here is a new one that I tried. This one is a Cinquain which is poetry consisting of 5 lines. Mine is 10 lines because I wrote 2 sets for this poem :) Each line has a certain qualification for the number of syllables. I hope I did an ok job! :)

Large, welcoming.
Loving, beating, living.
Warming the soul.

Open, near.
Working, pumping, caring.
Hold family close.

Poem #104

Another acrostic poem for today :)

Happiness, joyful fun.
A year older, celebrating this step.
People fill the room with wishes and cheer.
Peeking at the pile of presents.
Your family has worked all day to,
Bake the perfect cake.
Ice cream, cake, your favorite treats.
Reading cards, talking to everyone.
This is always so much fun.
Having a great time,
Doing your favorite things.
Amazing friends and family.
You had a good day!

Poem #103

Today's poem is a fun rhyme about traveling! :) I wrote this because since the school year is coming to an end, I've been thinking a lot about summer vacation!!

Take a trip. Time to get away.
Pick the location and a good place to stay.
Then choose how you travel, by boat or by train,
By car, by bus, or even by plane.
Then pack up your things and head out the door,
Thinking of all the things this trip has in store.
Begin the journey to your destination.
The travel time's the same as your estimation.
Arrive and automatically begin to relax.
Go to your room and put on comfy slacks.
Then lie down on blankets and rest your head,
On a pillow in the soft and comfy bed.
And over your body, tiredness begins to creep.
So you close your eyes and fall asleep.

Poem #102

Today's poem is another acrostic! I hope everyone is having a good weekend :)

Calming, rejuvenating, fresh.
Odor of flowers,
Oh how I love this breeze.
Light, air, awakening.
Bright, cheerful, relaxing.
Refreshing, arrival, carrying stories.
Eventful, unpredictable, rustling leaves.
Enlightening, flying with the birds.
Zealous, joyful, spring.
Exciting, invigorating,

Poem #101

I hope everyone enjoyed they special 100th poem yesterday!! :) Today's poem is about a sunrise!!

Early in the morning,
Walking out onto the grass,
Watching the sky. Waiting.
Looking for that sign,
The sign of the day beginning.
A light appears in the distance.
Soon the sky lights up,
Set on fire with all different colors.
A beautiful scene, worth the wait.
The morning has arrived.

Poem #100

Today is the 100th day!! :) Which means 265 poems to go!
Today's poem is going to be very special. It is about the Titanic, which is a subject I've studied for years and I'm very interested in it. This is also special for today because this is the day that the Titanic sank so many years ago. April 15th, 1912. I hope you all enjoy this poem! :)

Rocking back and forth,
The large dark object rolling over the waves.
The water, crisp and cool,
Like the breath of winter.
Breeze blowing my hair back,
As I clutch onto the metal rail,
Looking into the darkness,
And remembering.
Remembering the scraping sound,
The jolt of the ship.
The silence, then the screaming.
People running, in a blur.
Into lifeboats, down into the abyss.
Water filling the rooms,
The blackness beginning to swallow us,
The crying, the shouts,
And seeing my husband for the last time.
Then, in a boat, rocking on the waves,
In deadly silence,
As the last of the ship disappeared.
I was lucky, rescued,
But my heart was not.
And now, I can think of nothing else,
My mind blank to all other thoughts,
My body rejecting sleep,
And feeling shock,
For I am a survivor of the Titanic.
I am history.

Poem #99

Second poem for today!! :) A rhyme for kids!!

On the Playground
We are going to the playground.
We will have fun and run around.
Slide down slides, swing on a swing,
In the cool spring weather while the birds sing.
Meet other kids just like you.
Playing together is a fun thing to do.
Bring a picnic lunch along to eat.
Put down a blanket and take a seat.
Lie back and watch the clouds go by,
As you stare up at the bright blue sky.
Sitting peacefully in the grass of green,
Looking out at everything, so serene.
This whole day has been so much fun,
I wish this day wasn't done.

Poem #98

Hi :)
Sorry I missed a poem yesterday, but as usual, I will post two up today :)
The first poem today is another day of the week poem!!
Tomorrow is the special 100th poem!!!!!!! :)

Second day of the week,
Only four more days to go.
Still too tired to speak,
And wishing for snow.
Off to school once again,
I can't stand this much longer.
At least I'm in grade ten,
And my mind's getting stronger.
This day takes forever,
I'm nearly asleep.
It will not end. Never!
So at the clock I peep.
Finally the day's over and done!
Now I'll get up and go play in the sun.

Poem #97

Heyy :) Good afternoon!
We all know what it's like to have that one person that we really connect with, like a best friend or boyfriend or girlfriend, husband or wife, or maybe a family member. This is someone who we share the same interests, thoughts, and feelings with and someone who maybe knows you better than anyone else. And you know that you are always going to be this close no matter what. Today's poem is about this :)

Unbreakable bond between us.
The love we share conquers everything.
Time has worn at our souls, our minds.
Life has broken us, our spirits.
But we keep going,
Because we have each other.
Getting each other through everything,
And celebrating the good times.
We share one heart, one mind.
We need each other more than anything else.
You are the essential part to me and I to you.
We laugh together, talk together, are together.
Without the other, we are not whole.
So when my world is crashing down on me,
And I feel alone and empty,
You are there to hold me close,
Because what we have is,

Poem #96

Toady's poem is about best friends :)
There are many more to come!! Keep reading!! :) and the special 100th poem is only 4 days away!!!!

Buddies, bonded together.
Essential, one mind in two bodies.
Strong relationship.
Together forever, two minds, one soul.
Family, memories lasting forever.
Right for each other, closer than close.
Imaginations quite alike.
Emotions the same, sympathetic.
Never hurtful, always nice.
Dreams shared, thoughts only known to them.
Strength for each other.

Poem #95

Here's another acrostic poem!! :) 5 more days until my first milestone, 100 poems!!!! There is a very special poem coming for that day. It's on a surprise topic, but it's something that I've been learning about for years and the date that it is posted on is very significant to it! :)

Celebrating and achievement, a milestone.
Excitement and happiness.
Laughter, joy, good to see everyone.
Everyone is enjoying this,
But why does it have to end?
Relatives and friends, joining together.
Amazing time, fun and exciting.
Together all day.
Everyone has come to,

Poem #94

Hi all :)
Today's poem is called Never Know. This is about how some people will judge others or will come up with a description of what they think someone is like but never actually take the time to get to know who they really are.

Never Know
You think you know everything,
All about me, who I am.
You jump to conclusions,
Criticize what you don't understand.
I'm different, and you act like I'm a freak.
But you don't know me,
You've never tried.
You might like me, understand those things.
You would see that I'm nothing like you think,
And that maybe I'm not so different.
But you've never bothered.
You will never know who I am.

Home, welcoming, inviting.

Essential for life.

Poem #92

Another acrostic poem for today!! :)

Wet, calm, cooling.
All around, clear, crisp, droplet.
Trickling, running, flowing.
Essential, invigorating, useful.
Refreshing, soothing, cleansing.

Poem #91

Today's poem is another rhyme, this time about a bird I heard singing that reminded me of all the nice spring weather :)

A Bird
Bird riding on the breeze,
Singing sweetly in the trees.
Flapping wings and dropping a feather.
Taking advantage of the warm weather.
Glassy eyes, and pointy beak,
From underneath the branches peek.
Song echoing all around,
Saying the bird is freedom bound.
Past the buildings, over the town,
Never looking back, never looking down.
Over the fields, over a stream,
Flying high, this is my dream.
So keep on flying, flying by,
Flying all throughout the sky.

Poem #90

Todays poem is a new format. It's in a new rhyme scheme than I usually use. My normal one is AABBCCDDEEFFGG or ABABCDCDEFEFGG. This poem's rhyme scheme is AABBACCDDC. :) I hope you all enjoy it :)

I really love my cat.
She's soft and sweet and fat.
She likes to drink milk,
And her fur feels like silk.
Her ears are like the ears of a bat.
When she stares at you with those dark eyes,
You will suddenly realize,
She is irresistible and sweet.
She has a personality that no other cat can beat.
She was such a great birthday surprise.

And just a random note, I don't actually have a cat. I just made this up for a topic :)

Poem #89

Poem #88

Hi! :)
Today's poem is another funny little rhyme! There are many many more poems on the way so keep checking back! :) And thank you all for all the support you've already given me! :)

I'm all worn out,
I want to sleep.
I'm out and about,
But I feel it creep,
Into my body, the tired feeling.
I need to lie down.
On my back, I look at the ceiling,
And I don't make a sound.
And slowly my eyelids begin to close,
All I see is dark black.
This is a good time for a nap, I suppose,
So I stay there on my back.
I need my rest, it seems.
Hopefully I'll have sweet dreams.

Poem #87

Good morning!!
Here is one more acrostic poem :) The next few poems will be a bit different :) I hope you are enjoying these poems!!
This poem is called Beautiful. Basically, the meaning of this poem is that everyone is beautiful in one way or another, both men and women ("beautiful" can be used to talk about men as well, for personality more than looks though. Handsome would be used for looks). Beautiful isn't always about looks. It's more about personality than anything and everyone is beautiful in their own way! :) So never let anyone tell you that you aren't beautiful.

Benign, bright, cheerful.
Extraordinary, wonderful.
Above average, amazing.
Unique, special.
Talented, focused, dedicated.
Irreplaceable, wanted, unstoppable.
Friendly, cares for others.
Unselfish, gorgeous, loving.

Poem #86

Good morning! :) Happy April!
Today's poem is another acrostic poem like yesterday's! :) I hope you enjoy it!

I think about you all the time.
Love your smile, your eyes, your laugh.
Outrageous jokes, stories.
Very sweet, loving, kind.
Every quality is amazing.
You mean so much to me.
Outstandingly chivalrous, lovable, and,
U are perfect for me.
