Be careful, I’m fragile,
You can easily break me down,
Shatter me into a million tiny pieces,
That are beyond repair for years on end.
My heart hangs in a balance,
On that can easily be toppled,
Especially from the lies that spew from your mouth.
I took the leap, let you in,
Thinking you could take good care of me.
You were careful at first, gentle.
You held me in a light grasp,
One which kept me near and kept me safe.
No care in the world, we carried on,
And I began to feel strong.
But it was all a dangerous illusion.
Shattered, smashed, fallen.
